After several months of consultation, preparation, design,audit and delivery – GB Pickleball are delighted to announce that we have been endorsed and accredited as a training facility by 1st4Sport for our Level 1 Pickleball coaching qualification.
Level 1 Pickleball qualification is the first accredited qualification in the world and demonstrates our commitment to formal recognition of the sport, both here in the UK and the rest of the world.
GB Pickleball have satisfied compliance, governance and high quality training content, material and delivery to be awarded the status and we are now working towards development of level 2.
Sheena Maclean-Bell, Director of GB Pickleball said – We have been meticulous in our involvement of Pickleball over the past few years, much time and personal financial investment have ensured that we are following the required pathway to solidify our position for player development, coaching, play, development of the sport from grass roots and now coaching programmes to the UK & Europe.
As a coach and Director I have worked closely with 1st4sport to ensure we are satisfying the regulatory bodies which certainly demonstrates that we are taking our sport seriously towards recognition with Sport England.
This is an exciting time for Pickleball in the UK and we have submitted funding applications which, when successful will see pickleball firmly placed on the sporting map and will create a massive positive shift for our sport.
1st4Sport is an awarding organisation recognised and regulated in England by the Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator (Ofqual). Regulated in Wales by Qualifications Wales, in Northern Ireland by the Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA) and in Scotland by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) Accreditation. 1st4Sport specialise in offering vocational and occupational qualifications in the active leisure, learning and well-being sector.
The level 1 qualification will be rolled out nationally with a full diary of delivery to be announced shortly, public and closed courses will be available.
