GB Pickleball is set to soar to new heights, bringing more access to the rapidly growing sport of Pickleball to the UK. BayPoint Leisure and Parent Company Ramac Holdings Ltd have watched the growth trend of the sport closely over the past 18 months becoming sponsor to GB Pickleball, no stranger to the world of sport the group also own Princes Golf Course, the championship 27 hole course on the idyllic Kent Coast.
BayPoint Club, a 17 acre site in Sandwich, Kent boasts fantastic sporting facilities and will be the base for GB Pickleball’s national head quarters, pickleball equipment shop, Training Centre and Coaching Academy, offering Pickleball development seven days per week. T
he centre has a range of meeting rooms, a 4 court sports hall, restaurant, bar, 3G multisports courts, squash courts and 9 football pitches. The National Academy has a strategy in place, concentrating on the growth and development of Pickleball for the rapidly growing national player base.
Pickleball appeals to people of all ages and abilities and is easy to learn the basics. It is the fastest growing sport in America, a craze which is trending in the UK and Europe, a fun and sociable sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis. Played both indoors or outdoors on a badminton-sized court with a dedicated pickleball net using a carbon composite paddle and a plastic, whiffle ball.
GB Pickleball is working hard to develop this addictive sport across Great Britain and offer pickleball to both a local and national market whilst working under the guidance of Sport England to see Pickleball become an officially recognised sport.

To kick off the new partnership a 24 hour Pickleball Marathon is taking place at BayPoint on Friday 14 October at 12 noon to Sat 15 October at 12 noon as part of Heart FM/Global’s Make Some Noise Charity which support small projects that support disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.
